How Western Rewards Is Different

Not Your Average Bank Rewards Program

Quite simply…we’re different from other banks and credit unions because we don’t make you jump through hoops to earn your points. We don’t require that you meet a certain number of debit card swipes, that you log into online banking, that you enroll in e-statements or any of the other requirements you see at other banks. We keep it simple. Just swipe to earn points, then redeem!

We also support our local small businesses by giving you a chance to redeem your points for local gift cards. We’ll continue to add to our local gift card catalog, so be sure to check back for your favorite local restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques, and service providers.

Western Rewards Vs Credit Card Rewards

Using your Western State Bank debit card instead of a credit card offers several advantages. First, we don’t charge an annual fee. We also don’t charge interest, and there’s no monthly bill to stay on top of since your card is simply tied to the funds in your checking account. While you may be able to accumulate points faster with a credit card, you can also avoid extra costs by choosing your Western State Bank debit card. Western Rewards simply gives you an additional option and another way to earn points!

Questions & Answers

On your first visit to the Western Rewards website, you will need to create an account and set up your profile with a username and password. You will also be asked to set up security questions and answers for password retrieval. Once you create your profile, you will log in with your username and password.

Simple! Use your personal debit card issued by Western State Bank for your purchases. You will earn 1 point for every $3 spent* based on your qualifying net purchases (purchases minus returns and/or other related credits). You will earn points as long as your account is in good standing (that is, not delinquent, in default, closed, canceled, blocked, suspended or otherwise inactive and not available for use as a source of funding). You will not earn points for cash advances, balance transfers, unauthorized or fraudulent charges or for fees of any kind on your card account. Credits to your account (such as for returns of purchases) will reduce the points available in your account.

*Points per dollar spent is subject to change at any time. Changes will be posted on our website and communicated to debit card holders prior to any changes.

Point balances will always be available on the Western Rewards website or you may call the Western Rewards Award Headquarters customer service phone line at 800-854-0790 to verify your balance. You will also be able to view points earned on your Western Rewards eStatement, which will be e-mailed to you monthly after you set up your profile.
For merchandise rewards, you will order merchandise using the online shopping feature on the Western Rewards website. You can also call Award Headquarters customer service at 800-854-0790. You may also print an order form from the Western Rewards website. Simply complete the form, including all information requested, and mail to the address printed on the form.
Yes. The staff at your local banking center can help you in the event that you lose your card, as well as ensuring all of your points have accurately transferred to your new card.
Yes! Be on the lookout for in-house promotions that we run and check into our ScoreMore deals through the rewards website. ScoreMore rewards cardholders with additional bonus points for shopping with your card at select national, regional and local retailers. The ScoreMore rewards can be based on cardholder’s location and spend history or simply just a promotion from specific merchants!
Yes! We will have a Householding Feature that will allow you to pool points between multiple users. To do this, you will log in to our rewards website and add contributing accounts using their 16 digit debit card number, the primary cardholder’s name and their email address. Once the Head of Household and Contributors are added, each cardholder in the request will receive an email response letting them know whether or not their cards have been accepted into the household. The participant submitting the request will receive a pop up message with the same notification. Anyone in the household can redeem awards with the points that have been accumulated!
Points can be redeemed for a cash back reward. Cash back rewards will be issued in US currency through an electronic deposit to a checking or savings account of your choice. The cash back reward can take up to 5-7 days to become available within your account. Points cannot be exchanged for cash or credit; used with any other offer, promotion or discount; combined with cash to obtain any Awards; or, earned from or transferred to any other credit and/or debit card, account or rewards program, unless otherwise specified.
Generally, merchandise rewards will be shipped from Award Headquarters via a parcel delivery service or by the U.S. Postal Service and should arrive no more than 4-6 weeks after your order is received. Some items may be shipped directly from the manufacturer. When redeeming points for a local gift card in our custom rewards catalog, the gift card will be mailed directly to your address of choice and will take 1-2 weeks after your order is received. You will be notified if there is a delay in filling your order. Please note that shipments cannot be made to a post office box or outside the United States and eligible territories. Visit the Western Rewards website and select the Charity category to view a list of participating 501C3 organizations. There are over 1 million local and national charities to choose from, and the list is updated monthly based on information provided by the IRS.
Visit the Western Rewards website and select the Travel category to get started. This program allows you to fly from virtually anywhere to virtually anywhere in the world! In addition to airline travel, you can also book hotel/car reservations on the Rewards site. While you can make reservations as close as one day prior to your actual departure date, we recommend you plan your travel at least 14 to 21 days in advance for the best availability. If you need any assistance, please reach out to a Travel Services Agent, available Monday-Sunday from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. CST. Contact information is available on the Rewards website.
*Program details are subject to change at the bank's discretion. Bonus Points accumulate for 48 months for each cardholder before the oldest 12 month's worth expire. At 36 months, the cardholder is notified of the total amount of Bonus Points that were accumulated in the first 12 months and are given from month 36 until month 48 to redeem the 12 month accumulation before they expire at month 48.
