Costumes for a Cause Winners Announced

Western State Bank recently held our annual Costumes for a Cause employee costume contest. In the regional category, our Goodland banking center took home the win for the 3rd year in a row. At our main banking center, our Document Processing team claimed the victory. The winners were selected by a combination of public votes on Facebook and an internal employee vote. Each winning team gets to choose the recipient of our Costumes for a Cause donation.
Goodland's win benefits benefits the Fort Hays Northwest Tech Food Pantry. And in Garden City, the donation will benefit Real Men Real Leaders. Both teams will also enjoy a catered meal on the bank.
This year's contest combined a public (Facebook) vote with an internal employee vote.

Western State Bank recently held a social media challenge to celebrate school spirit and a long-standing rivalry between Garden City and Dodge City High Schools ahead of the annual Hatchet Game. Winners from each fan base were drawn and the winners are listed below. - Garden City: Alice Gurrola
- Dodge City: Mikayla Culver Davis
Garden City High School athletics also received a donation from Western State Bank for having the highest number of participants in the challenge.

Brielle Koehn Named 2025 Leoti Scholarship Recipient
|
|
Brielle has been selected as our Leoti banking center's scholarship recipient for 2025 and will receive a $𝟭,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝗔𝗡𝗡𝗨𝗔𝗟 𝗦𝗖𝗛𝗢𝗟𝗔𝗥𝗦𝗛𝗜𝗣, renewable for four years. The daughter of Craig and Gloria Koehn, Brielle plans to attend Fort Hays State University to pursue her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She is pictured with Leoti Banking Center President Brady Harbin.

2025 Ag Future Scholarship Recipients Announced

Together with American Implement, we are pleased to announce the winners of the 2025 Ag Future Scholarship Program:
Bay Ellis, Springfield High School; Brekkyn Konecny, Kansas State University; Trace Kopper, Cimarron High School; Madelyn Schiltz, Oakley High School; Maiya Shelor, Kansas State University; Emily Shelton, Garden City Community College; Gage Sorensen, Garden City High School; Breven Vulgamore, Scott Community High School; Hannah White, Stanton County Jr/Sr High; Dyson Winfrey, South Gray High School.
The Ag Future Scholarship Program provides a total of 10, $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors and current college students who intend to pursue an Ag-related program or degree at a university, community college or technical school.
