A customer received phone call, FaceTime call, and text messages sent from a number with a 515 area code. The text message was made to look like an automatic text message from "Western State Bank®" requesting approval on a debit card transaction. When customer replied, a supposed "agent" joined the thread and attempted to obtain the customer's info.
IMPORTANT: When Western State Bank employees reach out via text message, the number will show our local banking centers' listed phone numbers. Our employees will never reach out asking customers for their full account number, full debit card number, or any other private information.
