On April 29, we were informed that an individual received a phone call from someone claiming to be a WSB fraud department employee. Though the phone call appeared to be coming from Western State Bank's actual Garden City phone number (620-275-4128), the call was not from Western State Bank. The caller said the individual's debit card had been compromised and they needed to disable it, then attempted to obtain the debit card number.

Remember: bank employees will never reach out to customers to request account numbers or any other sensitive information over the phone. Please hang up and call your local banking center if ever in doubt.
