Penny Order Limits Now in Place

As mentioned in our recent article "The End of the U.S. Penny," the U.S. Treasury has announced that production of the penny is coming to an end. As a result, financial institutions across the country, including Western State Bank, are beginning to experience limitations on penny availability. At this time, we are operating with a limited supply based on our current inventory.

To help ensure fair access for all customers while supplies last, we have implemented the following limits:

Change Order Limits

• Non-business customers may receive up to $1 in pennies.

• Business customers will see penny orders limited to amounts consistent with their typical historical ordering activity.

As penny supplies continue to decline, these practices may be adjusted. We will share updates on our website as changes occur. In the meantime, we are actively exploring ways to encourage local coin circulation so we can continue meeting customer needs for as long as possible.
